AOC(Active Optical Cables) cables convert electrical signals to optical signals for the data transmission.They were created as an alternative to Direct Attach Copper (DAC) cables to offer increased distance from 1m-300m with ligher weight, faster speed, lower power consumption and lower package loss.
Like transceivers(all AOC are with transceivers on both ends), all AOC(10G/25G/40G/100G) are MSA and IEEE standards compliant. And AOC can be either truck type or breakout type for high-speed, high-density netwok connection or network aggregation or upgrading.
